Hidro Balear's pool maintenance service combines floor and wall cleaning, pH and chlorine testing with adjustments on each visit, filter, pump, and dosing system checks, and season opening and closing services if you choose this option. All work is carried out by our own technical team, based in Mallorca since 1984, for both private pools and the pools and spas of hotels or residential communities.

During the swimming season, the pH —between 7.2 and 7.4— and the chlorine are tested daily, the whole volume of water passes through the filter at least once a day, and chlorine and algaecide are topped up every week. Opening and closing call for a tune-up and winterising, and the filter, pump and dosing system need periodic servicing. Our maintenance plans spread these tasks out as often as each pool requires.

Our in-house technical service—established in 1984 and not outsourced—checks, diagnoses, and repairs everything that makes your pool work: pump, filter, control panel, dosing system, lighting, heat pump, and home automation. We find the root cause of the problem, not just the symptoms, and we install genuine replacement parts available in our stores in Palma and S'Arenal.

When the filter loses pressure, the pump makes noise, the control panel displays an error, the dosage becomes incorrect, the water level drops inexplicably, or it becomes difficult to keep the water clear even with the chlorine level under control. Also, if the system is performing worse than before or your electricity bill increases for no reason. Call us at 971 46 54 54: the sooner you look into it, the cheaper the repair will be.

The ones we've seen most since 1984: the pump that seizes up or loses its prime, the filter that lets sand into the pool or no longer filters, the filtration system that doesn't purify, incorrect dosing, leaks in the shell and pipes, control panel errors and blown lights. When we repair, we check the whole installation, because many faults are the consequence of another one nobody spotted in time.

When breakdowns are frequent or replacement parts are no longer available, upgrading is more cost-effective than continued repairs. A variable-speed pump uses up to 90% less water; a thermal blanket prevents 98% of evaporation and raises the water temperature by up to 4°C; a winter cover reduces chemical usage by up to 70%; and a robotic pool cleaner saves 20% on filter backwashing. A breakdown is often the perfect opportunity to make your pool more sustainable.

Preventive maintenance detects wear, misalignment, and incipient failures before they force the pool to close or require costly repairs. It extends the life of the equipment, keeps water and energy consumption under control, and avoids unexpected problems in July and August, when pools are most heavily used in Mallorca.
